Dorothy hails from Canada and, fun fact, actually never had physical therapy before becoming a physical therapist! Growing up, Dorothy played many sports and knew she wanted to be in the healthcare industry. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto, double majoring in Nutritional Science and Human Biology. She loved the human body and what it could do so she continued her education and received her Master’s degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education at Wilfrid Laurier University. Throughout her time in school, she volunteered in multiple healthcare industries and decided physical therapy was her passion. Dorothy then moved to the Big Apple to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at New York University. Through NYU, she was able to be certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist and was introduced to the world of Pilates. Her new interest guided her to complete a certification in rehabilitative Pilates from Polestar Pilates and is now a certified Pilates Instructor through the Pilates Method Alliance. Her most recent educational achievement is receiving a pregnancy and post partum corrective exercise specialist certification and her most recent personal achievement is sitting on her couch for five hours binge watching Netflix shows. If you see her, please recommend your favorite TV show!
