• Do I need a prescription before I come to see you?

New York State allows “direct access” which means you can come to Ascenza Physical Therapy & Wellness for any pain or injury, without seeing a medical doctor first.

However, depending upon the severity or complexity of your condition, you may be required to get a prescription from a medical doctor.

  • Do you accept health insurance?

We accept all major health plans that have out-of-network benefits. If you are uncertain, we can check & confirm your benefits before your first session.

  • How much will my sessions cost? Is there a copay?

Before your first visit, we will acquire all the information that is needed for us to run a review of your insurance benefits. After verifying your plan, we’ll let you know your coinsurance and/or co-pay responsibility.

We ensure complete transparency throughout the process, which will protect you & us from any unexpected costs along the way.

  • What should I wear to physical therapy?

Athletic or exercise clothes would be great. If you are coming for a lower extremity issue, we recommend wearing shorts or bringing shorts with you. This allows us to access your knee or thigh musculature (if needed), analyze your gait, and accurately measure your range of motion.

A short sleeve t-shirt would be ideal if you are coming for an upper extremity condition.

We recommend wearing sneakers to physical therapy; especially if you are attending for a lower extremity condition.
